Hi there, I'm Jodi Segel, the founder of Southern Direct Primary Care, and I'd like to share the story of how this clinic came to be. Southern DPC is so much more than just a healthcare practice—it's a calling. This journey wasn't born out of convenience or opportunity but out of faith and trust in the Lord's plan for me and my family.
For years, I worked in the corporate healthcare world, where I saw how broken and impersonal the system had become. Patients were waiting weeks for appointments, only to spend just a few rushed minutes with their providers. There was no time to listen deeply, no room to address the root causes of illness, and certainly no space for the personalized, integrative care I knew people needed. I watched as patients were treated like numbers on a chart instead of the whole, complex individuals God created them to be.
My personal breaking point came when my own freedom to make healthcare decisions for myself was taken away. I was told I had no choice but to comply with a vaccine mandate, and it was made clear that I would lose my job if I didn't. In that season of uncertainty and chaos, I cried out to God for guidance, and He gave me a clear and undeniable directive: open this practice and trust Him to provide.
That was a leap of faith, but the Lord has been faithful every step of the way. I didn't know what the future would hold, but I knew He was leading me to create a practice where patients would be seen, heard, and cared for in the way they deserve—a practice where faith, integrity, and compassion are at the core. Southern DPC is here today because of God's provision and grace, and I am so grateful to serve this community in His name.
At Southern DPC, we've reimagined what healthcare can look like. Here, patients aren't just numbers or appointments on a schedule—they're people made in God's image, deserving of care that treats the whole person. Whether it's helping a woman navigate the challenges of menopause, supporting a family's health, or addressing root causes of illness, we're committed to serving with compassion, integrity, and faith.
Here's what makes us different:
As Southern DPC has grown, God has continued to bless this practice with amazing opportunities to expand. I'm so thrilled to have Kaila Smith, FNP-C, on our team. Having known Kaila for years, I can personally attest to her dedication to patient care and her strong ties to our community, where she is so well loved. Like me, Kaila has a heart for patient care that goes beyond the surface. She brings years of experience as a provider, along with her perspective as a wife and mother, and she's passionate about women's health, family care, and helping patients find balance and wellness. My patient panel is currently full, but Kaila is accepting new patients, and I couldn't be more excited for you to meet her.
Healthcare shouldn't feel rushed, impersonal, or hopeless. It should feel like a partnership—one where your provider truly listens, cares, and supports you as you navigate your health journey. At Southern DPC, we aim to honor God by providing care that puts patients first and empowers them to take control of their health.
If you've ever felt frustrated or overlooked in the traditional healthcare system, I want you to know there's another way. This practice was built to serve you with faith, love, and integrity. It's not just about treating symptoms—it's about walking alongside you as we work toward healing and wellness together.
If this sounds like the kind of care you've been searching for, we'd love to welcome you to Southern DPC. Kaila is currently accepting new patients, and we're here to support you and your family on your health journey.
Let's move forward in faith—together.
